is fabulous.
“For example, one ally reported seeing that the dominant white macho culture in his organization did not appreciate his female Black colleague’s talent and was limiting her success. When he moved to a new company, as soon as he saw an opportunity he actively recruited her. The new role involved much more responsibility than her previous positions, but he convinced her that she could do it.”
The new boss had to convince the black woman that she could do the job. Sounds like a mercy hire to me.
Wow that is just so fabulous. But um, this suggests that her talent was not appreciated because she is black. If she had been white, everyone would have noticed her enormous talent and promoted her up for ranks without question. I guess.
Has there ever been a disagreement on the talent of an individual in the workplace without a racial component? I guess not.
Race is the only possible, conceivable, rational explanation about why opinions of this person varied.
But this is oh so helpful in helping white people become better people. And we need lots of help. The white macho culture is very harmful to Black people.
