soon after it opened because I'd heard so many good things about it, especially going to/from Cards games.
So every train I was on had a commissioned cop on board from STL, STL County, EStL or St. Clair Co. I took the train each morning for a 4 day international trade show and took it back to SLU each night after going out to dinner with other vendors from the tradeshow.
One morning, a guy got on and said good morning to the uniformed officer. From the way he was dressed, I thought he had to be a detective. We both got off at the Cervantes Center and he saw me put on my exhibitor badge. Was curious as to my thoughts and experience. Turned out he was the Director of Public Safety. Retired from STL PD and had taken a retirement job in AZ when he got recruited for the MetroLink job.
We discussed the jurisdiction issues as ALL officers had concurrent jurisdiction ANYWHERE they were, regardless of politcal boundaries.
It's a pity the MetroLink has degraded so much in safety. I'd say their model of non-commissioned security isn't working.
