correct but wrong about who the us and them are. Most think the us and them are Dems and GOP, liberals and conservatives, or urban and rural. Those are all wrong.
In DC the us is everyone inside the beltway and them is the rest of America. As long as they retain their power and their fiefdoms they couldn't care less who was in power.
As was demonstrated during the Trump impeachment the real power in DC is with the bureaucrats, not the elected officials. Trump was not impeached over a phone call or even because the Dems hated him. He was impeached because he was upsetting too many apple carts in DC.
