Only comment I could make on El BJ's programs - where the poster claimed they had made things worse (I imagine over time) was that they in fact fed children and provided for very poor folks a roof over their heads. While ultimately the programs did not sustain, sure as sht putting a hot meal in the belly of a starving child is not making things worse. Better to teach a man to fish - sure, but not so bad to feed a hungry child. I think the JESUS that so many American misinterpret would have favored giving the kid a bit to eat.
