the minority being given some relevance in the Senate. If folks throughout the time the current filibuster rules weren't keenly aware of what it would mean to change them, it would have happened a long time ago.

By and large the rules have changed several times in the last 20 years. Reid gets the blame for starting it, GOP escalated it, and the Dems will finish it off.

Hopefully neither side is trying to take the high road here cause they are equally culpable in it.
