This message is being sent to prepare you for the possible closure of our school buildings due to COVID-19 and a shift to distance learning for at least two weeks for all PreK-12 students.
This change may need to occur due to the following:
Student positive COVID-19 cases have increased significantly since the holiday break. To put this into perspective: In the first two weeks back, we have had 55 student cases. In the four months leading to winter break, we had 110 total student cases.
Staff positive COVID-19 cases have also increased significantly since winter break. To put this into perspective: We had 39 positive staff cases the first four months of school. In the first two weeks back from break, we have had 15 positive staff cases.
Finally, we are reaching the point where we do not have enough substitutes to cover staff absences.
This change may need to occur due to the following:
