Good description by you. I heard someone say that people who longed for the past America were supporting a vision that was half myth and half memory.
Lots of older white people fondly remember the 50s and 60s as a time we should move back to. Two thoughts. I’m sure white males remember that as a great time. Not so much if you were a women or a minority. Change was necessary. And it didn’t come at the expense of white america.
There is no going back. And the thing I don’t get is why people are so offended by admitting there is still racial discrimination or white privilege. There is. While I don’t support the reparations concept, it doesn’’t threaten me in any way to admit we still have a ways to go.
