When Nixon lost a razor thin election in 1960, he could have contested the Illinois vote, tied the country up in knots, and damaged us in countless ways. But he didn't. He recognized how much damage an election contest would do to the country, and he was too much of a patriot to put the country through that. So he conceded.

When Nixon was impeached, he realized how terrible it would be for the country to go through the remainder of that process. Again, he did the honorable and decent thing by resigning from office.

Trump has faced both of those crises, and has handled them the exact opposite way, because he needed to feed and stroke his narcissistic vanity and his ego. He did what he thought was best for Donald Trump, the country be damned.

Nixon had at least a semblance of a conscience, and was a better man than Trump.
