To take benign short excerpts out of an hour long speech which was, on the whole, toxic and inflammatory, and pretend like those little excerpts mean that the whole speech was not toxic and inflammatory.

It's a very misleading technique, and undoubtedly makes you feel like you're really making a great point and accomplishing something, but it's not effective.
