brilliance of our founders, much of which ignorant Americans wish to eradicate (i.ee., the Electoral College and Senate).

But the advantage of democratic forms is that the tyranny of the one or very few can be much worse. There is no perfect system. And per my OP, once there is no common culture and values it breaks down rapidly.
