Local leaders solution: raise taxes, cut services beg Feds

for a bailout. As if the citizens are not suffering enough, they want to raise the tax burden and cut services. Brilliant. Yeah, that will keep people from leaving.

So the DeBlassio/Cuomo coaching staff has called the play from Page 1 of the Democrat Playbook - raise taxes (Democrat equivalent of the old fullback dive). They are now attempting to call the play from Page 2 of the Democrratic Playbook - seek a bailout from the federal government. This is nothing more than taxation without representation (to break that down so JG and M can follow along, seeking to increase the tax burden of residents of other states who do not receive any benefit to pay for their mistakes).

This was coming long before Covid - see Illinois and California for Exhibits A and B - but Covid gave them the cover they need. I would not give any of these Democratic run states that have racked up these huge budget deficits one thin dime. They should declare bankruptcy. But this new administration will do exactly that and in another two years, they will be back asking for more.

And please, do not try to tell me that the federal government always bails out states when disasters hit. Those are natural disasters. This is a man-made disaster created by faulty leaders who are afraid to make a tough decision. They should have a state law requiring that the budget be balanced every year like Missouri does.
