the list of major problems with present American culture:

1. Entitlement
2. No savings / debt and spending
3. Punitive, no second chances, reputation ruination
4. Armchair industry building
5. Armchair jailing of people
6. Lack of respect for private property
7. Armchair central planning
8. Lack of individualism / putting people into boxes based on roughly similar traits
9. Virtuous victimization
10. Low information, mass hysteria, calls for immediate broadsweeping govt. action


It occurred to me a few years ago that there weren't political problems in the US, there were cultural ones. And the politics were simply following the culture.

This is going to get worse before it gets better (if it does in our lifetimes).
