I’ve talked about causation. You’re talking about responsibility. Two different things. Some overlap, but not necessarily a lot.
Trump’s inciting a riot was a substantial cause of the woman’s death. So was her own behavior. So was the person who shot her.
Multiple causes. Not that hard to grasp.
Personal responsibility is another issue. For example, Trump is personally responsible for his own outrageous words that incited a riot around the pyre he’s been building for months.
