In October, 2015 CEFC approached Hunter with an offer to contribute to his 'charity' and to begin discussion of a $100 million joint venture with the Biden family. Now bankrupt, CEFC was known to be owned by the Chinese military and associated with China's intelligence operations against the U.S. CEFC later paid Hunter $6 million for 'consulting' services in addition to the venture capital. In return Hunter provided access to Joe and other democrat political figures.
