First, the GOP can complain about election fraud for the full term which (1) may cast doubt on Biden's legitimacy and thereby reduce his effectiveness and (2) cause at least some states to "clean up" their elections.
Second, The Trumpster has many redeeming features, but he's a rather polarizing figure and a lot of folks have visceral hatred of him. Not serving a second term may allow a lot of his "ideas" to take hold in the GOP without generating more Trump haters among Dems.
Third, it would appear that the next four years are at best uncertain, i.e. record poverty and unemployment, massively larger and larger federal deficits; the Fed continuing to pump up the money supply (inflation), potentially failing state governments in New York and California.
Four, a couple of bad actors in foreign affairs, i.e. China and Russia.
Five, increase terrorist activities in the Middle East spreading to the rest of the world.
It a lot easier to sit on the sidelines and throw stones instead of having to find solutions.
Looking at history, Tricky Dick Nixon resigned during his first term, Jimmy Carter was elected and four years later Ronnie took office. 2026 could be a good year for the GOP.
Personally, I'm rooting for Ivanka. She's got the Trump name, she's got a lot more self control than her Dad and she is a woman. Plus she smart. I hear she's going to run for the Senate. Not much experience, but that just might be an asset in 2026.
Eight years of Ivanka might not be all bad.
