That while this is in place, the city will be providing free electric, gas and water to the buildings where tenants are not able to be evicted for not paying rent?
How is this going to impact rent prices going forward?
This is so shortsighted.
And yet, eviction and homelessness is a serious problem and probably a very difficult one.
Just assuming that the landlord can do without paying the bank, or the ridiculous amounts of personal property tax (Due in December) Jackson County charges or any maintenance is absurd.
There is cost to shelter, whether you own the shelter or rent it from someone else. There is cost to it.
