The whistleblower computer repairman contacted the FBI first. It was the FBI that sat on Hunter's laptop and the Delaware AUSA only got involved after news of what the whistleblower found on it leaked out. Once the DOJ, actually the Delaware AUSA was investigating the laptop, the DOJ rightly released no information regarding the ongoing investigation. I understand Trump's anger, but he is wrong to criticize Barr for not disclosing news of the investigation. I believe Barr was following DOJ policy not to comment on the matter.

That said, I think it is appropriate to criticize the FBI handling of the matter. They have completely dishonored themselves during the past five years and should be abolished.
