Soon the neighborhood was frequented by their new residents' ghetto friends at all hours of the day and night. It was obvious they folks were supplementing their income with drug sales. The long time residents made a concerted effort to get the new folks removed. The police department took an active interest and parties were arrested.
Same story for many of the newer mega-apartment complexes going up in Johnson County with a percentage set aside for Section 8. Since many are in areas close to the interstate (to serve as sound buffers because the property would be unsuitable for single family homes unless it was a deaf community), it mean easy access for friends from other parts of the metro. Come to JOCO, see your friends, rob a convenience store on your way home to KCK.
