I'm just curious how God would be surprised by anything anyone does. He's omnipotent. By definition, he lives a life free of surprise.

Coincidently, if God is omnipotent, then it can (and should) be argued that those liberal's decisions or views were preset time immemorial. There is no way to have free will and to have an omnipotent god. So is it really the fault of the liberals?
