that does not mean that elections were fair, nor does it mean that the results should stand.
It may well be that significant intervention is needed if there were voting irregularities or violations or election laws, rules or regulations or even machine malfunctions. Those interventions could potentially include a variety of attempts at remedy up to and including invalidating the results, and in this case having one or more of the state legislatures pick the electors for their respective states.
Ideally, in cases of gross irregularities I think it would be good to have an option of a do-over, but that is obviously not an option at the present moment.
