So often in a game you can see a lane to the basket

It frustrates me when the guard come down, the defense is not set, maybe there is one defender on the side of the basket with the guard handling the ball, and instead of attacking the basket before the defense can get set, the guard pulls up, and waits for everyone to get "in position."
Just attack the basket! Maybe a second defender will cut off the basket but pull back then, not when you are still 20-25 feet from the hoop.
I don't know if it's a lack of heads up vision by our guards or orders from the coaches to only attack the basket if it's wide open. Maybe this will change this year. Pinson was the exception who sometimes attacked in transition basketball last year.
