was a departure to past practices. Reno asked for the resignation of all, but it occurred over a period of time-not an abrupt leave now. Both Reagan and Clinton asked for all to resign, but depending on individual situations it happened over a two year period. BTW, I’m not taking a position one way or the other on how this should be done. I will say that the time frame availability of “new job” positions for an outgoing US Atty-private or political is short so most are happy to move on. Staying where you’re not wanted or needed is not smart
