that's a large fanbase. That's what Mizzou needs to work on. Selling the game experience to it's students. Since they clamped down on public drunkeness along Providence and the poor performance of the team, you don't have the # of students attending (I'm pointing at the last couple of years, not this one). Those are the future fans who buy season tickets or try to make games where they can. I have friends of other fanbases and they most talk about heading up for a weekend to their respective schools. Mizzou fans were doing that pre 2015.
Fans continue to follow their teams because they see it as a part of their identity and one that they want others to know about. So even though Michigan has fallen, that's a lack of winning. They'll be paraded if they start winning. And it's also the reason why Mizzou gets little notice in the SEC. Our fanbase is right above Vandys.
