Affidavits are evidence. They may subsequently prove to be untrue. They may be thrown out as hearsay or disregarded later. They may be controverted at some point. The trier of fact, Judge or Jury, may discount them because they do not find them credible. But they are evidence.
Just as depositions are....sworn testimony under oath is evidence folks. Just like witnesses testifying in trial.
It's not just documents and videos.
