Voting is a matter of conscience. My conscience will not allow me to vote for someone I believe is morally unfit for office (Trump), or for someone whose policies I despise (Biden). I want to be able to say to myself, my children, my grandchildren, and to my God if He asks me, that i didn’t vote for either. So I didn’t vote for Trump or Biden.
On election night it is a binary choice. Someone is goIng to be our President, and it will be either Trump or Biden. Neither will make me happy. So I will prefer the one I consider to be less awful; less disastrous for our country. And that is Trump, by a fairly narrow margin.
It’s a fine line, I acknowledge. Voting is a moral decision of the conscience. Rooting for a winner is more a pragmatic thing.
