Friday softball report...

Watched the game today through 7 innings, they kept on playing but I went home for dinner.
Teams were better balanced today.
White jerseys lineup:
Honnold
Wilmes
Moore
Raabe

Weber pitching
Score was 5-2 for the Black team through 7 innings when I left. Weber went the distance and looked very good. Threw hard, was very accurate. She scattered 6 hits, only one double, 2 strikeouts, 3 walks, 2 runs, 1 earned run. Have not seen Dandola yet but Weber looks very strong to be the #3 pitcher on the roster. She handled a pretty tough team today facing Wilmes, Moore, Wert, Raabe, Bailey, and held them in check throughout. Only 2 runs she gave up were on sacrifice flys by Wilmes.
Schumacher looked good also, went 5.2 innings before giving way to Nichols with 2 on in the 6th inning. She was a little wild, scattered 6 hits, has 3 strikeouts but 6 walks, gave up 5 runs, all of them earned. She pitched really well except for two spots where the Bkack team scored their runs. In the 2nd inning two walks and two singles with an error plated 2 runs. Then in the 4th inning Laird walked, Cook smashed a double off the CF wall, then Chaumont absolutely crushed a 3 run HR to dead center field.
Nichols came on in relief of Schumacher in the 6th and pitched well.
Nice game to watch on a sun drenched day in Columbia. Nice to see a little competition after the one sided game Thursday.
