3-2 last week against the spread leaves me at 16-12 on the year against the Vegas number. I have to admit I am a bit disappointed I didn't pull the trigger on making Mizzou an official pick. In economics we talk a lot about the "sunk cost fallacy" and by the time I posted MU was "only" a four point underdog after they opened at 6.5. I felt Missouri was the better team and with a home game this should have been an easy pick. I think Kentucky has some good line play but Terry Wilson is not an SEC caliber quarterback.

Anyway, that is in the past and Missouri fans are very happy with how the team looks now that the QB situation has been figured out in a great way. If the Tigers can pull the upset this week it actually sets up a great opportunity to play (obvious) SEC East favorite Georgia after a bye week. Let's hope the home team gets there!

This week MIZZOU is getting 13.5 points at Florida. This MU offense appears to be capable of playing off the tendencies of their opponent. Florida is trying to overcome their COVID issues and even at full strength this spread is too high. I'll happily take MIZZOU this week and if for some reason if some bettor out there wants to take Florida, I would recommend the over instead because MU is going to put up some points on a defense that Texas A&M did quite well against.

MISSOURI is the pick

I watch Kansas State football almost every week, and I see some causes for concern. The QB play has taken a bit of a step back with the Skylar Thompson injury but this team finds so many hidden points and yards on special teams it is quite impressive. Also, just when you think their offense is dormant, they come up with some big plays. I'll take K-STATE (+3.5) to pull the outright win at West Virginia.

I LIKE LSU but the line has moved five points so I will sit out. I also LIKE Georgia but again that line has moved a bit too much to make it an official pick.

Meanwhile CHARLOTTE (+9) is motivated and has a talented young coach. This transfer QB that Duke has from Clemson seems to be quite mistake prone and I will take the points with a more motivated team. I have Duke on upset alert.

Memphis has been hit hard by defections and opt outs and CINCINNATI is playing for some potential big things. I look for the Bearcats to get some revenge after losing the American title game to the Tigers last week. Take CINCINATTI (-6.5)

For my last play I was looking at Rutgers as I think the momentum from Schiano is real but that turnover ratio may be unsustainable. Instead let's play the Friday night game and take WYOMING (Pick) as a home team. The Cowboys were quite competitive against a quietly solid Nevada team last week.

That's all for this week! Good luck to your (non Gator) team!
