bowl I attended. Even as a kid, New Orleans was fun city. My sister, a senior at MU at the time, struck up a conversation with a UF fan in the lobby of the hotel where the Mizzou contingent was headquartered (Fontainebleu Motor Hotel - "The South's Finest Motor Inn"). She made a $20 bet with the guy that Mizzou would win by a touchdown or more. She thought she was home free until that Spurrier-led rally in the 4th qtr. I was in her room that evening when the guy came by to collect. Nice guy. He looked down at me and said in a thick southern drawl, "Hey sonny, how ya doin?" He then took out of his pocket what looked like a checkbook. But instead of checks, it contained $2 bills. I found out later that these "checkbooks" of $2 bills were commonly used by horse track betters in those days to place $2 bets on the ponies. He peeled off one of those crisp $2 bills and gave it to me. I still have that $2 bill 55 years later.
