I used to play hoops at Spellman Park which was just across the street from Meacham Park/Kirkwood school district back before they separated the areas by building I-44. Lots of talent, but I believe the most successful was Bob Ball from the Lindbergh side of the street. His family moved to Tucker, GA the summer of 1969. He was a H.S. All American in 1972 prior to going to UNC-Charlotte who won the NIT in 1976 the year prior to making the Final Four in 1976 with Cornbread Maxwell.
