1. He had good numbers regarding his policies and the economic growth in Indiana.
2. Indiana was a "purple state" and he helped deliver it.
3. He is a social conservative, which helped shore up the evangelical and pro-life voters
4. He was connected in the party and respected in the legislature & knew how to work the senate & congress
5. Most of the voters respected him and he gave more of an air of respectability and normalcy to the ticket for those who thought Trump was too impulsive and off the wLL.
6. Most voters felt comfortable with the possibility of Pence stepping in as President if something happened to President Trump.
