he went 12-1 in one season at App State and might end up 5-3 or 6-2 in the final 8 games this year at Mizzou, who has gone 30-32 the last 5 seasons before this.
This game reminded me of the 1994 Nebraska Cornhuskers beating K-State.
Nebraska was down 2 quarterbacks, Kansas State was dominant and undefeated. Everyone figured this would be the year K-State would finally beat Nebraska.
But Osborne had other plans. He basically threw out the Triple Option playbook.
They ran basic/between the tackle runs 40 out of 60 plays, much to the surprise of K State who had prepared for an option attack. Phillips was given the ball 31 times for 117 yards.
Nebraska simply grinded out 3-4 yards a play, stole all the game clock and relied on their excellent defense.
In the end a 17-6 win for Nebraska.
