I've always respected Danforth in the past

I even volunteered quite a bit on his last two Senate campaigns. But he is just wrong here. The moderators are not impartial in any way. The questions are leaked to one of the candidates. The Democrats seem to plant people asking questions in town hall style debates.

Any Republican that agrees to a Commission sponsored debate already starts about 5 steps behind their opponent. If I were a Presidential candidate, I would never agree to a commission sponsored debate unless they make very significant changes to the way they do things. But I think they are too far gone and they just need to go away at this point. Their debates are garbage and have been for the past 20-30 years. The country would be better served by the campaigns just doing their own thing as far as debates like they used to. The Commission just gives the guise of impartiality, when that is not the case.
