years ago and one of the teams had every player in a mask. In rec league softball at that age an outfielder may have one fly ball hit withing 50' of her the entire season and these fools had every kid in a mask.

Way to teach the kids to be terrified of the ball at a young age. When the kids get older and the more competitive then I understand the pitcher and possibly third baseman wearing a mask.

I played third in a men's fastpitch league for a few seasons. Keep the glove in front of the face and the arm hanging between your legs and everything important is protected.
