is it the social distancing now?
The thing that sucks about this pandemic is how ****ing stupid each side is.
Neither looks at the data rationally.
It's pretty simple to see this **** is more contagious than anything in a long long time. Maybe smallpox or the spanish flu.
BUT... it is absolutely also less harmful than either of those.
For the vast vast majority of the working population it IS LESS SEVERE than the common flu.
What would any sane person that has those facts do????????
Open the **** back up and get the economy going while simultaneously suggesting (or mandating) requirements for the portion of the population that is at risk and fast tracking (with proper checks a vaccine).
Really stupid takes that **** me off:
1) Virus is a hoax people. (It is real. It is really contagious. It isn't an issue for the vast majority)
2) Masks don't do anything people. (Masks slow spread)
3) Faucci is lying people (His job is recommend how to stop the virus with the least amount of infections not weigh the consequences of how and when it is stopped.)
4) cuomo is a genius people. (He pretty much handled as poorly as you possibly could have according to the data)
5) Sweden is perfect people (They didn't do enough to protect the at risk percentage. They even admit that they didn't and it was because they didn't lock down in the beginning and look at the data. They are on record as saying they would still not quarantine at large but would have done some kind of quarantine for the older population).
6) The Sweden doesn't count because X people. (Sweden isn't significantly different from the US. They don't naturally congregate less, their diet doesn't make the less susceptible to contracting the virus or any other of the incredibly stupid **** I have heard. They got it 95% right. Congrats to them. We as a society can either choose to be willfully stupid and not follow their example (with the subtle changes to help protect the small percentage of at risk people or we can and get on arguing over other stupid things like why Trump is such a ****ty businessman or if Biden would **** a 12 year old if no one would find out.
You can cling to the ****ty talking points that come from whichever side you choose to subscribe to (both are ****) or you can look at the data.
If you are left leaning stop conflating deaths with infections.
If you are right leaning stop saying PPE and social distancing doesn't work. It does work but the problem is that it isn't the best solution given the data. (The half ass social distancing stuff is really stupid though and you can make fun of that. Like wearing a mask on the sideline for coaches and the weird PPE time based rules).

I am a libertarian. I think both sides are stupid and will be doing what I always do and voting for a 3rd party candidate aka throwing my vote away.
