Trump is either going to win in which case he will be whatever we refer to as 'president' thereafter until he dies and one of his kids takes over, or he will lose and what became of the Republican party will collapse and will have to become something entirely different to have any national role going forward.

There isn't any future scenario where Republicans lose this time but what it currently means to be a Republican ever reclaims power again. That window of opportunity would be closed.
