If you're an 80 year old fan, you saw some good Mizzou teams in the 60's and mid 70s but really that demographic and their parents (my grandparents) saw Mizzou as a team that would beat a top team that season and lose to some really ****ty teams. If you're in your 50s you were influenced by your parents (Gabe DeArmond) by what you saw and your parents view on Mizzou. I am that age but not in that camp. If you were born in the 80s or later, you actually have expectations of what Mizzou can do and should be. This is the generation I side with. We don't live in India. There is no caste system though those at the top will always tell you where you belong. This is part of my Mizzou Manifesto. We do not need to stay in our place. We continue to build Mizzou into a beautiful campus, encourage Columbia to grow, and recruit and play to win and advance the program. Won't happen in our lifetimes but Mizzou can become a destination school. Many of the SEC schools make this argument because there is no other reason to go to them.
