Camped at Pulltite and a family with biracial children were walking down the campground road. The youngest daughter would call out "hi-eeeee" as they came to each campsite. So cute.
Later I made the loop with my truck/trailer (so I didn't have to back up to turn around) and the man was playing cornhole with the same daughter. Waved at them as I went past. Did the same drive around the loop later and noticed his cornhole boards were thin blue line.
That evening while dinner was smoking in the grill (chicken breasts, baked potatoes, corn on the cob), I head to the shower and ran into them again. Stopped the truck and said "I was really admiring your cornhole board". He smiled and said we should come down and play later. I had to decline as we were headed to the Dairy Shack in Eminence after dinner. "So what agency?" STL Metro. He saw the look in my eyes as I said "Oh man". We talked for a while. He said folks are looking for private sector jobs. Kim Gardner is a complete idiot and they feel so demoralized to arrest people on Class A felonies only to have them released without arraignment in less than 24 hours because of Gardner's willfull incompetence.
Another person to add to the prayer list for St. Michael to watch over.
