Jeffcoat rejoining is big for us and a few observations

Bama put in subs in the second half on both sides of the ball, so don't get too hyped. Having said that, it's likely no other team (except maybe Georgia) will bring to the table what Bama does. A .500 record this year would be a huge accomplishment considering the holes on this team.
The offensive line was a huge concern, but scheme can help. Robinson just can't take big losses when protection breaks down and he runs around. Throw the ball away or run forward and take a small gain. Bazelak clearly has the ability to be very effective both with his arm and feet. If Robinson doesn't improve, there could be a change.
Considering the lack of an effective rush, I thought the defense played pretty well. Our main problem is lack of depth on both sides of the ball, especially offensive line. We're a few key injuries away from disaster.
It seemed like our receivers dropped several catchable passes. We need to do better.
Bolton is a beast.
Rountree and Badie will be effective as long as we're not one dimensional.
I don't hate Robinson, but his judgment needs to get better and quickly. This is a mulligan year, which is why I would really like to see what Bazelak can do with extended use. He make the running attack better because of his arm.
I really want to see Drinkwitz implement creative plays to offset our offensive flaws.
This team played hard to the end. This could have been a 60-3 game. Part of it was Drinkwitz, but part of it was also Saban calling off the dogs to get a lot of his starters out of the way of injury and giving reps to guys who might need to step in down the road. We need to find ways to win and not just keep it somewhat close. I already like our recruiting under Drinkwitz a lot better overall than Odom, but I'm also grateful that Odom recruited some good players, just not enough of them. Drinkwitz seems to be a better game manager, maybe even better than Pinkel, who always had a few head scratchers over the course of a season. Pinkel also did a lot of things very well. Let's see if Drinkwitz can equal or exceed THAT standard. Time will tell.
I'm not looking for miracles, just steady improvement over the next 2-3 years.
