equipment only lasts for 20 years at most. Current decent batteries require lithium and you have to dig the hell out of the earth to find it and there isnt enough. The blades on the windmills have to be buried because of the material they use in construction and it takes a football field or larger to bury and it takes too much area to set enough windmills to power a small city let alone something like KC. Solar and wind are feel good energy sources but not realistic, at least not now. What they should be putting research into is how to clean exhaust or use the exhaust of carbon burning power plants.
