He left a year before he would have been hired.

Lots of coaches were available that would have at worst put Mizzou on a level that Cuonzo has built Mizzou back up to the last 2 seasons. Instead he was forced to hire KA that bottomed Mizzou out.

Then Cuonzo tried the shortcut to a rebuild by bringing in the Porters, which if healthy would have worked. But they played 36 of 100 possible games and it backfired.
