And I don't think the social justice drama has anything to do with it.

People have lived without sports for months now, many have lost interest and found other ways to occupy their time.

The lack of full stadiums and altered seasons (e.g., no pre-season) makes the season lack legitimacy for many. I haven't watched baseball for that reason.
