but I have cousins (all from the same family) on Long Island who, nineteen years ago today:
• delayed going into work at the trade center to take her son to his first day of kindergarten
• took the day off work at the trade center for her birthday
• swapped shifts the day before with another guy at his station house. that guy and seven others died when the towers collapsed
