I completely agree except two points

The unknown at the beginning, especially in NYC, and maybe even other places to get resources, and understand the virus

The other part is...."The lockdowns also prevented cancer screenings, heart-attack treatment and substance-abuse counseling, the absence of which resulted in a large but hard-to-estimate number of deaths."

I have not seen anything related to this in terms of facts.

My problem with articles like these...there are tons of facts to argue the premise...there is no need to go to the above.

The two big issues to me are:

The complete economic destruction of so many small businesses because most large business were deemed "essential" and were able to grow

The changing of the goalposts from death to number of cases.

And one more sort of big one...the complete 180 on masks.
