we never truly locked down. We locked down some stuff, then it became political and not about science where some business types and gatherings were blamed for spread and not others.

We never tried truly locking down. Unessential businesses like Lowe's and Home Depot were classified as essential and were packed in March and April.

Bars, restaurants, and churches have been under attack since mid March. As well as republican rallies, bike rallies, pool parties. Social justice protests, crickets. Weddings, crickets.

There's no way to tell how effective lockdowns were because we never locked down. There's still no telling how the virus is actually spreading because contact tracing is only happening in witch hunt situations.
