If we really want constitutional gun control it would require amending the constitution to either change or eliminate the second amendment.

When the bill of rights was passed there was no difference between military and personal weapons. The framers wanted people to have the ability to access top of the line weapons. No one in their right mind thinks people should have access to tactical nukes but I would argue that the seconmd amendment does give us that right.

There is a reason that the founders gave us the ability to change the constitution. They did not foresee nuclear weapons but they did foresee the possibility of the problems that they present.
