How many complaints were unfounded or groundless?

Just because someone has a complaint made against them doesn't mean they are guilty.

Had a complaint once from a married/common law man and woman who both had warrants. Serious allegation for something I didn't do. Well before in-car video and body cams. Dept took their complaint, called me in and asked what I knew about it, called them back in and said they would proceed with an investigation but only after they both agreed to a polygraph. If they both failed the poly, they would be charged.

They withdrew their complaint.

I started carrying a compact cassette recorder.

Had another supervisor once tell me "if we aren't getting complaints, you aren't doing your job".

Had a dad go off on me for writing his kid a ticket in a restored 34 Ford Roadster. HS kid from Blue Valley. Dad shows up and calls me all kinds of nasty things. My response "Sir, you have a nice day".

I could see the steam coming out of his ears.

Fvck him and fvck his complaint.
