Heavily censored places like Reddit, Twitter, etc make the US seem very leftist and liberal, at least in terms of its internet users. Same for places tied to your identity, like Facebook or LinkedIn.

However, communities that aren't heavily censored or are anonymous (4chan, this board, Twitch chats, etc) lean hard to the right. Hard. Even when I watch NBA streams, the chats are always overwhelmingly to the right.

This makes me feel reassured. The spastic left's public shaming/assassinations of wrongthinkers quiets the right in the internet's largest communities, but this does not reflect reality.

While this is anecdotal (and I don't attend gay/trans events or spend time in public health clinics, etc) I find that most people I interact with are not the autistic, loud leftists that dominate mainstream social media.
