So true. If only the United States were more like China.

The President could simply decree what was best, once that became obvious to those of us who are most intelligent and wise. And then, each of these wonderful and wise things could become mandated or else.
Then again, it occurs to me that Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Happiness didn't include 'safety'. That's also true of the #1 reason immigrants worldwide consider the United States of America a dream destination: Freedom.
Not safety.
Not protection.
Freedom.
You see when people are free to live, to make their own mistakes (sometimes serious mistakes) they begin to mature and grow as spiritual beings. They move aggressively along the path to wisdom.
When people are 'protected', 'inhibited' by an ever-increasing number of mandates, they lose Freedom. Freedom to experience everything that life has to offer. The nanny state, in attempting to save citizens from themselves, instead keeps them in larval form.
Another thing happens in 'mandate' nations: eventually people who are out for themselves gain power - these types then turn the mandate state into Hell on Earth. Such is China. Such is Russia. Such is North Korea.
So while you're happy to worship yourself and others with like minds as the best and the brightest, as those that are 'wise', as you embrace past mandates as 'now correct' and so on, you tighten the noose around the populace, eventually converting the United States into just another tyranny.
At such times, it becomes necessary for the brilliance of the 2nd Amendment to shine. The right of the people to form militia, bear arms and throw off the tyranny of a raging out of control government.
The path to hell is paved with good intentions. The hubris you and those of like mind show here in regards to such 'mandates' are several of such intentions and hell, is certainly alive and well in the streets of Minneapolis, Portland, Seattle and other Democrat bastions where the 'wise' seek to dictate the lives of everyone else 'for their own good'.
So while you ponder soberly your great wisdom, the 63M (now 100M) eye your incredible arrogance and hubris. You are not better and brighter than the rest of the population and we will oppose your every policy initiative to the end - whatever it takes - to keep the United States of America as the greatest nation on the face of the Earth, and keep the light of freedom burning brightly, no matter how many small-minded tyrants seek to snuff it out.
