insurance for poor people.
Sure, it mentioned pre-existing conditions, but if you are living off of foodstamps and are offered a $1,000 a month $25,000 deductible insurance policy? You might as well be offered nothing, because you can't pay for it and you certainly can't use it.
What Trump is doing, as usual, is forcing the insurance companies to get their actuaries to work calculating profitable rates where patient's actual conditions are covered by the insurance.
'Insurance', since it's inception, has been ever more aggressive (in all markets) in EXCLUDING everything that actually is going to happen.
In short INSURANCE has been in the business of profiteering, not insuring. The whole idea of 'pooling money' for a known danger is laughable. That was abandoned over a century ago.
President Trump is simply asking the exotically wealthy insurance companies and their backers, to actually cover the risk at hand and help out their customers, instead of just scamming them, which is the current industry standard.
The difference being we're talking about actual insurance, in effect, that will help real people when bad things happen.
As opposed to ObamaCare, which was nothing more than a Trojan Horse designed to collapse all health insurance thus forcing Single Payer.
