The Tiger AD is not a separate legal entity from the University. Legally, it's on the same footing as the English Dept., Library, etc. Separate accounting records are maintained for it, but the funds belong to the University. If the AD has a XXX dollar negative cash flow, the University is on the hook to cover that negative, not just the AD.

The last numbers I saw for Mizzou (2018-2019) indicated it had about a 1.3 billion annual budget (not including the medical center) (the System had about a 1.6 billion annual budget).
